BEACH DAZE

hola friends
i'm back this sunday with a new post for you all! i love having so many posts to ah post because of the amount of pictures i have! this summer just gone was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamazing, i freaking love summer it's gotta be my most favourite season. i spent so much of this summer snapping underwater pictures, i love them so so so much, i love the element of surprise because you just have to go underwater and quickly snap some pictures before coming up to the air and you don't know what they'll look like until you get home! my favourite time to take underwater photos is when the sky is blue and reflecting on the water and the waters super clear and blue and ahhh my god so perfect!!
Just before christmas (literally christmas eve eve i think) Jas came round to my house and lucky we live down the street from the beach we walked across and even though it was windy- not really there was a breeze and the water was a tad chilly we braved it and jumped in because geeeez we were very determined to take as many underwater shots as we could!! the water was clear but not as blue so i had to end up editing them a bit but in actual fact i think they turned out ok! they may not be that crystal light blue i love but i still love how these turned out, they feel almost vintage-y with the colours and the slight blue to the photos (and that lovely element of surprise i talked about earlier bahahha)
i think you can all understand now how much i love underwater photography!! its my most favourite thing to do in summer! one more thing to mention is that hella amazing logo i added up there!! well that was designed and made by the lovely brooke from Utterly Brooke Lea Blog (make sure to follow her on insta too at @utterlybrookelea ) and i love love love the logo so much so big thanks to you brooke!!  i congratulate you if you were bothered to read all this, scroll down and check out  (some) of the underwater photos jas (salt water strawberry blog) and i took in summer holidays xx

SUMMER // 2 YEARS

 HEYHEYHEY
it's been way to long since i last posted and i'm sosososoosso sorry!! last weeks of school  = assignments, tests, projects, assessments = no inspiration or motivation.
on a happier / more important note yesterday (april 9th) was my two year anniversary of this blog and instagram! pre crazy but yeah i love you all and thanks for sticking by me ahhah ;))
i reckon as of yesterday its officially autumn - now i know autumn started like a month ago but for ages it was still warm/hot weather.  but yesterday it was grey, cloudy and pouring down with rain. i miss summer so much, there's two things i'm excited for in winter though - the clothes and my birthday -  so today, as i sit here in my tights, denim skirt and log sleeve top i am reminiscing on the amazing summer we had.
i spent summer laying on the beach, swimming in the pool and the salty ocean, taking a l o t of photos, making heaps of icy poles, watching the big bash, trying to control my salty hair, surfing and enjoying 8 weeks off school, and celebrating christmas/birthdays. summer is probably my most favourite season ever.
i have put whole lot of photos from my summer on and guess what.....i don't reckon this is even half of them!! hahahah. enjoy looking through the salty summer photos and hope you all have a fab Easter - look out for some fashion shoots coming soon x

KEEPING OUR BEACHES CLEAN

the beach has always been my favourite place, and the ocean as well. and what hurts me most is when i see people disrespecting these places and treating them as though they don't even care at all. leaving litter everywhere, taking our oceans and our beaches for granted. so much rubbish and litter that you see on the beach end up in the oceans, and killing the marine life in it.
recently my friend and fellow beach an ocean lover were on the beach when i noticed a massive bit of ghost rope we picked it up and as we kept walking found more and more rubbish on the beach.
all this rubbish you see on the beach ends up in the ocean, did you know that it is estimated that 13000 pieces of rubbish, plastic and litter is found in every square kilometre of the ocean? with over 8 million pieces of plastic entering the sea EACH YEAR!! 60% of marine rubbish is made up of plastics and around 100,000 marine animals (and turtles) are getting killed by this each year!! we must put a stop to this because together we are future and we need to spread the word about the damage humans are doing to our oceans and marine life.

this was all the rubbish we found in a radius of about 200 metres.

and this was from 100 metres

i am currently working on more art, film and photography on this for a project so stay tuned
